Comme Louis Vuitton
Rei Kawakubo, President of Comme des Garçons, says: “These are party bags to celebrate the 30 years of Louis Vuitton in Japan. In designing them, I have kept Louis Vuitton’s traditional concept as it is, but sometimes two handles become one, sometimes two handles become eight… It has been a remarkably exciting opportunity for me to have been able to participate in Louis Vuitton’s traditional design and heritage.”

“The Tent City” : Henrik Vibskov SS09
I don’t really know how I feel about Henrik Vibskov’s Mens SS09 Collection, except that I am not as excited as usual. His show concept, “The Tent City”, is definitely fabulous and original as usual. There are definitely great pieces throughout the collection but the styling really does not set me free.

Viktor & Rolf Team Up With Diesel Powerhouse!?
VIKTOR & ROLF has had an injection of Diesel power – fashion heavyweight Renzo Rosso has purchased a majority stake in the cult Dutch fashion label.
The two powerhouses have reportedly been in talks since September 2006, but have been taking things slowly to ensure the deal – of which details have not been disclosed – is right for both parties.
Design duo Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren have admitted they were impressed by Diesel boss Rosso’s handling of Maison Martin Margiela, a similarily concept-led label, which his Only the Brave holding acquired in 2002.
“It’s a new chapter to start building on the brand and to focus on creativity,” a buoyant Rolf Snoeren tells WWD. “We needed to team up with a strong partner to realize our dreams. It’s like a marriage: You have to be sure you have the right partner. What we like most [about Rosso] is his openness toward creativity and out-of-the-box thinking.”
On the agenda are investments to bolster the duo’s ready-to-wear business, add new lines – including eyewear and jewellery – and open freestanding stores to raise the Viktor & Rolf profile worldwide.

FASHION FORWARD SPONSORSHIP WINNERS ANNOUNCED
The British Fashion Council today announces that designers Christopher Kane, Erdem, Marios Schwab and Roksanda Ilincic have been chosen to receive British Fashion Council Fashion Forward sponsorship.
The scheme, established two years ago, provides financial support to UK-based designers who are in the early stages of developing their business and have already established a profile at London Fashion Week. The award, partly supported this season by the London Development Agency, consists of a substantial cash prize, to be used towards producing an on-schedule catwalk show at London Fashion Week, and has been previously won by Giles Deacon, Jonathan Saunders, Richard Nicoll, Jens Laugesen and Sinha-Stanic. Christopher Kane, Erdem and Marios Schwab are all being awarded Fashion Forward sponsorship for the first-time. Roksanda Ilincic is a recipient for the second time.
// K.Z.O Spring 09 ” Manzanar ” //
Yesterday we spoke about Brett Westfalls and CDG, Id like to take that thought and build a bridge to another designer we really respect and admire. Joel K. designer of KaZuO, an L.A. based, Japanese produced and inspired brand, has also collaborated with Brett for the Fall 08 collection on a layered Flannel look. Read the rest of this entry »
Brett Westfalls for Comme des Garcons SS09
Designer of Unholy Matrimony, Brett Westfalls was invited by Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garcons to Japan and given his own studio to create 16 full looks for the SS09 Collection which hit the Paris Runway the last week of June. Although the aesthetic of the pieces shown on the runway carried a CDG aura, his work was very distinguishable from the rest of the collection. We could definitely sense his rock n roll/grunge circa 90’s influence that is undeniably present in Brett’s personage.
La Isla Moda, Dubai
Dubai is no stranger to large displays of wealth and celebrity interest. But now Dubai unveils ISLA MODA, a whole island dedicated to fashion. This is part of a huge development called “The World” namely we can expect this one to be a little different to the one we live in.
It has not yet been announced where in The World the fashion island is located — somewhere near Milan or Paris, we presume. We do know, however, that Isla Moda will be decked out with haute couture boutiques, fashion resorts, a medical facility, and of course luxury residential villas designed by Lagerfeld and decked out with Chanel furnishings.
Isla Moda will be decked out with haute couture boutiques, fashion resorts and luxury residential villas. The villas themselves will be designed by Karl Lagerfeld. The idea is to manufacture an international fashion hot spot that host product launches, fashion shows and other extravagant events.
Lagerfeld exclaims : “Isla Moda has tremendous potential to be the style icon of the future and I intend on driving the island to high style stardom.”
“Abdulrazzak said the reported $80 million (Dh293m) figure for the project cost is “nowhere near the price of the island or the development”. She added that the island price tag falls closer to the $30m to $50m range. She, however, did not disclose the development costs. The exact location of Isla Moda is still under wraps but Abdulrazzak said it is towards the Atlantic Ocean and navigable from all sides.”

Kanye West for Louis Vuitton
Last October, Kanye West revealed that he was working on a collection of jewelry with Graduation cover artist Takashi Murakami. His love for fashion and praise continue.
According to WWD.com (Women’s Wear Daily’s website, which also broke the jewelry news), Kanye revealed at the June 27, 2008 Louis Vuitton show in Paris, that he is working on a line of men’s shoes with the fashion design company famous for its luggage. Fitting for a guy who he has called “The Louis Vuitton Don”. Read the rest of this entry »
Lara Stone : Model of the Year 2008
Cyana Trendland is confident to name Lara Stone Model of the Year for 2008. I have been noticing Lara everywhere that matters for a year now and I love her more and more each time. There is something very nostalgic to me about her look, its sends me back to the 70’s , and then back to the 90’s and at the same time it is so strong today. Her gap and actually quite a bit about her remind me of Vanessa Paradis and her raw and limitless sensibility with the camera of Kate Moss. Adriana Degreas : Couture Swimwear
Adriana Degreas is celebrated today as the “Bain Couture designer” from Brazil and is noted for her use of sophisticated cuts and shapes for swim collections adorned with genuine accessories.
Her style mixes the French technique of moulage which creates a worn or antiquing effect on textiles that recalls a 1970’s energy. Ever since she was a young girl playing with fabrics from her parents’ company she has been inspired by her grandmother’s taste for Emilio Pucci, Andre Courreges, Azzedine Alaia and Pierre Cardin and her collections today reflect this heritage. Huffer New Zealand
You could say that HUFFER is a grandfather brand in Kiwi and Aussie urban, street, surf, skate culture. They have been around for 10 years and have a huge presence in New Zealand and Australian fashion. The success and growth of HUFFER is traveling across the world to use the USA as a new home base for a whole new market. The styling and price point of HUFFER can be compared to WESC and INSIGHT, 2 international brands who have prevailed and dominated this market in the US. HUFFER is expected to hit stores this fall 2008.
Rio Fashion Week Spring/Summer 09
This is the 13th Edition of Rio Fashion Week, and I can definitely say that in the past 3 years I have followed it has become more and more exciting. Last weeks Spring/Summer 09 shows had a strong emphasis on performance art and sets designs like i have never seen there before. After reviewing all the shows I have brought to you the best of Rio Fashion for next Spring/Summer.

United Colors of Benetton
United Colors of Benetton has always carried the title one of the strongest campaigns because they embrace diversity and fuse it with extremely strong visual imagery without being pretentious or cheesy. I love the styling and direction of these 2 photographs from their current collection.
Fashion Illustration Fall 08
I have always had a very strong infatuation with fashion illustration. It was the class at Parsons that frustrated me most, because I wanted so bad to express my design aesthetic through illustrations, but the illustrations always fell short of my imagination and style. Another reason it may have been so hard for me while I was in school was because I always sat in between the 2 best illustrators, and almost preferred watching them throw it down on their sketchbooks with so much style and ease than attempting to get where they were. Fashion Face Painting

WTF is Mr. Pearl

“I’m fascinated by the possibility of the manipulation of nature in the quest for beauty. It’s a kind of obsession. I’ve always been fascinated by gardening in the sense that trees can be trained into different shapes and I think that the body is a similar tool. It doesn’t happen overnight, although a corset can be donned on a very superficial level. But it also has another side to it which is a much deeper thing, Read the rest of this entry »

Vannessa Paradis : The New Face of Miu Miu
Out with the old in with the new, although I’m not sure how well that expression works here when comparing the gals at hand. I feel like every week we are announcing the new face of Miu Miu. And this time Miu Miu really dug deep into a forgotten treasure. French songstress, actress, model and wifey to our all time favorite beau Johnny Depp, Vanessa Paradis has been named the new face of Miu Miu.
Fashion Knowledge : Martin Margiela
I came across a really interesting article I archived a few years ago, which was as good as new when I re read it. Art and Culture Magazine has great word clusters with topics of articles to keep you reading for days. Here is a piece on the hidden face of fashion, a timeless figure in fashion, the one and only Marting Margiela.
Martin Margiela has been called the J. D. Salinger of the fashion world, and rightly so — he refuses to be photographed and will only be interviewed by fax. He won’t even put his name on his clothes, branding them instead with a blank label.
Margiela is perhaps the most underexposed designer around. But, in another way, he’s continually overexposed, as his collections routinely reveal the designer’s techniques and interests in their very construction. Bearing visible stitches, exposed hems, tailor’s markings, and external shoulder pads, his collections never fail to both shock and delight. Read the rest of this entry »

Fergadelic x Paul Smith

“Graphic Equalizer”, Fergadelic’s, has just done another fabulous collaboration with Paul Smith Japan in a stunning line entitled “Robinstein Frankencrusoe”. According to sources, the line is said to be a themed based collection representative of the mythical figure Frankenstein and of Robertson Crusoe. The line is supposed to manifest ideas of “alienated hostility”, “war-like society”, and a hope for a better tomorrow, themes present in both figures Frankenstein and Robertson Crusoe as explained by Paul Smith’s Fergadelic. The line also incorporates elements of surf-style and punk, so it should appeal to quite a voluminous amount of diverse stylistic taste. We are seeing this a lot right now with lines like Maui & Sons relaunching in the US and opening a store, where else but the Venice boardwalk.
The line is currently available at Paul Smith Japanese shops and will be making their way to London shortly.

APTform : Michail Gkinis
Introducing Michail Gkinis, Greek born designer currently living and designing in Tokyo. He interned under Issey Miyake, the influence of Issey’s work can be seen in Gkinis Brand Aptform.
CONCEPT : SPIRIT
Michail Gkinis is making meaningful clothes always progressing the Raison d’Etre into the wearers mind. The message he portrays is ‘Form Follows Function’ by the Bauhaus art movement. His admiration to implement it not only in clothing but as a purpose of life. Having this in mind he is applying the amalgamations of industrial/ nature/ human values/ the space within as the fundamental inspirational engine in order to express his awareness about the modern social environment and in result is using clothing as a medium to communicate with the rest of the humanity.
Pepper and Pistol – winter 08
The Beautiful collection from Pepper and Pistol for winter 08 is called Underworld :

Clemens en August

What do you get when you cross a touring rock band with a high-end fashion label? You get Clemens en August . Well sort of.
In the hectic world of fashion, often it’s all about creating a point of difference to reach a target niche market – and this brand seems to have this down to a fine art.
To create an air of exclusivity, Clemens en August operates outside of the normal fashion schedule by only being available through a touring concept store twice a year for 3 days at a time per city. And if that’s still not exclusive enough for you; each piece is produced in limited numbers.

Started by Alexander Brenninkmeijer who belongs to the clan that founded the C&A retail empire, the trunk shows reflect the refined and sharp tailoring of the clothes and are mostly held in galleries, museums, theatres and other lavish locations. The next tour, which takes place this month will stop off in 11 cities including Berlin, London, New York and Zurich. Via TheCoolHunter

We’d love to see the clothing rack that holds Castelbajac, Jeremy Scott, C-neeon and Henrik Vibskov all at the same time.

Keller’s Killer Shoes
I just spotted a new brand with some killer shoes. The ankle boots remind me of a vintage pair I bought in New York for $4 which dated back to the 1940’s. Despite them being 2 sizes too big I wore them to death justifying to myself that Pipi Longstocking never wore shoes her size either.
Keller is a New York based clothing and shoe line created by Kelly Clark.
The name Keller comes from a nickname given to her by her close friends.
“I want to create a line that reinvents itself each season by incorporating a fresh
purpose into classic ideas. I feel dedicated to the creation of subtle yet effective
pieces…clothing that is timeless, the kind that stays in your wardrobe forever.”
Kelly Clark was born and raised in a suburb of Philadelphia, PA. She learned to
sew from her mother, Diane, at an early age. Kelly received her B.F.A. in Fine Art
and Art History from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. She later went on to
receive her A.A.S. in Fashion Design from F.I.T. in New York.
Keller is based in Brooklyn, NY.

Endovanera x Posso The Spat : LA Fashion Week
Endovanera collaborated with their good friends and contemporaries, POSSO The Spat for their FALL 08 fashion show at BOX Eight, during LA Fashion Week. Combining Endo’s fine tailoring, slim silhouettes and sleek yet disheveled gentleman style juxtaposed with the debonair polish of a spat was a killer touch! Handmade meticulously detailed metal sash necklaces made by ISHI 1451 using found treasures and metal scrap, added an intricate bygone-futurist look to the line.
The venue was in the outskirts of downtown but nevertheless a great party spot. With an outdoor deck area bumping with fresh jams, the party was stuffed with designers, models, and buyers who stayed and danced till late!

Gram for Sweden
* Despite their name, Swedish design company Gram brings an approach to footwear that’s more whimsical than weighty. Founded in 2005 by Alexis Holm and Anna Stenvi, Gram crafts snappy, cross-bred shoes—a smidgen of cap-toed conservatism, a dash of deck shoe, and a hint of Chuck Taylor. For their s/s ‘08 “Laundromat” collection, Gram delivers five new styles mixed with some renewed classics.
A standout is the slate-colored 387g, a subtly pointed high-top that’s sleeker than your average sneaker, crafted in cotton denim with black trim and double Velcro closures. The 388g is a nice variation on the same high-top theme, this time with a single velcro strap, a suede cap toe, and all white cotton denim.
If you want something more outlandish the 388’s low-cut cousin the 321g comes in a variety of spring-fresh color combinations from sunflower yellow to grassy greens and punch-drunk pinks. The heftier 406g, a tall lace-up, can be muted in black cotton denim, or a bit more punk in a cotton mix plaid. [ via JcReport ]
Central Saint Martins 2008 Shinning Star
There is one thing I look forward to more than anything else every Fall Fashion Week Presentation , Central Saint Martins Fashion Week Show is one place I can always expect to be surprised, inspired, and assured that our generation will, in fact, leave a mark in the crazy industry we still call fashion. The show has this feeling of freedom of expression and journey of concept. Not to say that the entire show prescribes this kind of sensation but there is always at least one shinning star, an undeniable success story to be written. the excitement of discovering these talents at their very first debut invigorates me more than seeing some of my favorite designers present their new collections. Annalisa Dunn, Marios Schwab, and Christopher Kane are just three of my favorite CSM designers who have debuted their collections in the last few years and blown my mind. This year Mary Katrantzou takes it home with her color-block jersey dresses with large necklace shaped digital prints inspired by african tribal adornment. Color blocking and African inspiration will be very dominant in 2008-2009. Look out for the New Star!
Miu Miu – SS08 Ad campaign
Kirsten Dunst seems to be the perfect choice for Miu Miu spring/summer 2008 ad campaign. Prada’s little sister’s spring 2008 collection has a subtle perverse feeling, inspired being by French maids, ballerinas and Commedia dell’arte characters.
The campaign’s images shot by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott
Scandalously short hems, puffed mini skirts, kinky little-girl bloomers and harlequins decorated brocades describe best Miu Miu’s spring 2008 offer. The campaign’s images shot by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott show Kirsten in a cabaret setting captivating us with her theatrical poses.

Catherine Holstein’s Fall 08 Presentation
Thursday, January 31st I attended Catherine Holstein’s Fall 08 Presentation Party. It was held at Thom Bar at The Thompson Hotel. The models were on display in two of the private cabanas. The Collection was well color blocked and very wearable. There was a strong sense of nostalgia in her designs, with reference to uniforms from private school days or perhaps a sexy l’ hotesse de l’air from the 60’s. Apart from the silhouettes, she developed a beautiful print which was subtly screened onto her jersey pieces and printed on Large canvas’s arranged throughout the room.

Society for Rational Dress Spring 08 Collection
Society for Rational Dress, notably one of the best brands to come out of LA in the past 3 years has been able to maintain its integrity and aesthetic since designer Corinne Grassini’s launched in 2005. After studying pattern making at Central Saint Martins in London Grassini moved to LA to start her brand, which initially consisted of leather shoes, than bags, and now a full collection of well tailored but simultaneously flowy and unrestrictive clothing dressed with thick leather trims and heavy duty hardware. Here is a sneak peak at her Spring 08 Collection. For full preview and access to archive of collections visit Society for Rational Dress.

Epic Firm | Street Wear Chic
I’d like to do a Review on Epic Firm, this brand has been around for a year and a half and you will heard more about it really soon with their new collection… Their style is what we can call ” StreetWear Chic ” with some military touch, based in NY, where the design studio is working on the fall/winter 08. You can buy few pieces online at Cyana Boutique and soon in some of the premium shops in the US.
Endovanera
LA Menswear label Endovanera ( Yes, it sounds like end-of-an-era) is an up-and-coming line that you’ve got to take notice of now. David Michael Hershberger and Mitch Moseley make up the design duo that utilizes precise tailoring techniques defining their old-school American vibe. Their F/W collection is in large inspired by vintage military garments. Double breasted shirts, and tapered pants, subtle details in the form of hand-sewn buttons, curduroy pockets, contrasting liners, ribbon trim; all cloaked in dark cottons and wools sums up the Fall 08 aesthetic for Endovanera.

A Dress To Fit Every Mood
Philips is going through a complete makeover. I used to think Philips was just another t.v. company, but you must visit their Design Probes Project, the aim of understanding lifestyle post 2020. One of their cool projects ( in addition to projects concerning tattoos and jewelry) is called Skin: Dresses “which examines the future integration of sensitive materials in the area of emotional sensing – the shift from ‘ intelligent’ to ‘sensitive’ products and technologies.” These Bubelle dresses are composed of two layers, the inner layer has biometric sensors that pick up a person’s emotions and projects them in colors onto the second layer, the outer textile. The dress also changes color according to our emotional state. Like a mood ring, but a mood dress.
The shift from intelligent to sensitive…really interesting concepts they are playing with at Philips. Yes, the way we dress is first and foremost dictated by our mood and Philips is taking our emotive dressing to a future level. Susie Bubble ( whom I adore for her camera-in-her-face-as-she-styles-outfits-btw Happy Birthday Susie!!!) asks “Do I want everybody in the world watching me feel either elation, embarrassment, anger or attraction as I swan around in this Bubelle dress on the streets…”
I agree with her, I definitely don’t need the world to know how moody I really am, BUT conceptually I love what Philips is doing to blend fashion and technology, an area that we are seeing merge more and more.
Kartoon Kouture by Soren Bach
Wild and vibrant, this trend is not for the weak. Soren Bach creates eccentric head pieces for his Spring 2008 catwalk. I’m inundated with hats that are “rediscovered vintage looks,” and this is why Soren Bach leads the mad hatters to forward progression that is both shocking and stunning.
Blog.Mode: Addressing Fashion
Today begins the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute blog discussions of some 40 acquisitions titled ” Blog.mode: Addressing Fashion.” Each piece has some artistic or historical relevance to fashion, and is something of a crash course in fashion history. This public dialogue is a great concept, because those who are fearful to comment on artwork are not at all afraid to disclose their thoughts on fashion, thus taking fashions’ need to judge and be judged into a way of engaging public discourse with the museum experience.
Lover – Australian Fashion Label

The Freshest Fashion of Our Generation
Its been a year and a half since he dressed the graduating runway for CSM with the freshest looks I have seen in years. Something truly new. Something with an undeniably deep inspiration and someone with an instinct that fashion eyes are keeping close tabs on. With only 3 seasons under his belt, Christopher Kane has made it very clear that he is one of the leading designers of our generation, at only 24 years old. Introducing himself with his deliciously colored 90’s inspired bondage dresses, finished with an impeccable attention to detail for Spring 07, he had me in awe. Where would he go next, how would he translate this aesthetic into the next season, and there came Fall 2007, another shocker! Not what I expected but so sexy and exciting still. The combinations of fabrics included leather, velvet, metallic details and over-sized gemstones with a Victorian inspiration; still a feeling of that 90’s nostalgia. It was flirty, but serious and sophisticated. And now here we are for Spring 08 with yet another beautifully calculated collection and yet another surprise. Using snake skin printed chiffon frou frou juxtaposed with tattered denims he was able to continuously portray this super sexy, feminine but dangerous woman. This change of track that he has taken his bystanders on has been able to maintain one constant factor of the equation, the Christopher Kaness of it all. Its so early in his career to say something like this but his range of exploration has proven that his name will only continue to grow and influence the future and history of fashion.
Chanel Ankle Bracelet
Truly this is a trend that is completely and utterly celebrity inspired…the ankle bracelet! With the slew of pyt’s ( Lindsay Lohan, Eve, Michelle Rodriguez) who have been photographed wearing their clunky bracelets, Karl Lagerfeld interpreted this “trend” for Chanel’s Spring Summer Collection. It’s available in red patent leather as well.
Ladies, perhaps THE reason you need to have this is because now when we go out to go dancing, we don’t have to worry about carrying any bags on our shoulders or in our hands. Now we can dance the night away without having to hold a purse that is bulging with cigs, id’s , credit cards, condoms…
Jonathan Kelsey
You’ve got to check out top shoe designer Jonathan Kelsey, who learned his trade with Jimmy Choo. ( Fashion runs in his family, his cousin Stuart Vevers won the Accessory Designer of the Year at the 2006 British Fashion Awards.) The shoes have a kind of polish and sophistication that I enjoy but with a rock ‘n’ roll edge that any age group will lust over.
They are available now at Saks 5th Avenue.
Kirsty Doyle
London’s Project Catwalk ( like our Project Runway) winner Kirsty Doyle has the best collection of any Project anything contestant I’ve ever seen. She uses luxurious fabric with unique designs that truly stand out. Above is her F/W 2007 Collection, it’s got a little something for everyone.
Marni’s Christmas Spirit
Marni asked children from Columbia, Tibet, India, Guatamala and Brazil to capture what they say in the mirror. Of the 7,000 drawings they received, the fashion house chose 6 self-portraits to be printed on mens’ and womens’ shirts, available now at Marni’s Virtual Boutique. The proceeds of the T-shirt sales will be distributed between the schools who participated in the initiative. At $120 a shirt, it’s the most affordable item you’re gonna find at Marni!
Melanie Pullen: High Fashion Crime Scenes
Eerie, disturbing, beautiful..just a few adjectives that come to mind when poring over these High Fashion Crime Scenes by Melanie Pullen. Her images are ” vintage crime-scene images,” found from the files of the LAPD and the County Coroner’s Office. She has worked with Prada, Louis Vuitton, Chloe, Gucci and Chanel.

Hedi Slimane Solo Exhibit
Hedi Slimane, the man who used to head Dior Homme, but more importantly, the man whose razor-thin black suits revolutionized menswear, is now heading his own photography exhibit “Perfect Stranger.” His exhibit opened yesterday in Paris at Galerie Almine Rech and will feature Hedi’s explorations with “vaporous abstractions.”
To see more on what Hedi Slimane will be doing in the future, check out this Hint Mag interview.
Fendi Baguette
(From the pages of Vogue Dec 2007)
The classic ( well, classic because it’s been around for ten years now) Fendi Baguette is now available in white-canvas with a set of 48 Pantone markers and a logo-embossed wooden box to allow the buyer to color and decorate their Fendi anyway they choose.
This package goes for $5,500. The original Fendi Baguette goes for $2,720. So I guess a set of 48 Pantone markers (which can be found for less than $120) and the logo-embossed box ( it’s a box ,c’mon!) jacks the price up $2,780.
The New Faces of…
For Spring 2008, the next celebrity faces to head fashion campaigns are Jennifer Connelly for Balenciaga, Kirsten Dunst for Miu Miu, and Victoria Beckham for Marc Jacobs.
Jennifer Connolly still looks exactly the way I remember her in The Rocketeer, and that was 17 years ago!

Derrick Santini
Derrick Santini’s portfolio reaches fashion, music, art, and advertising. His belief that “you have to make a statement” is apparent in his work. His signature lighting is achieved predominantly without flash because he loves daylight but “you have to find the beauty in darkness too.” Derrick has worked with several rock and rap heavyweights such as Iggy Pop, Queens of the Stone Age, Muse, Lil Kim and Lily Allen.

Silver And Gold And Gold And Silver Pop-Up Store
From the Opening Party of Silver And Gold And Gold And Silver Pop-Up Store
Joining the increasingly popular pop-up store frenzy, Silver Spoon Attire has opened their first Silver Spoon Attire shop space in London, in collaboration with their friends Real Gold. This short-lived store will be reminiscent of “that place” in early ’90s movies where all the cool ( and un-cool) kids went to hang out. Silver and Gold and Gold and Silver is at 2 Ganton Street, London until Christmas time.
Coopa Roca
Each country has their own people dedicated to a tradition of technique and craftsmanship. Coopa-Roca, a community outreach program in fashion based in Rio Janeiro, Brazil, was founded in 1981 to provide and improve safe working conditions for it’s members who are living in Rocinha, to work from home, and thus be able to contribute to family survival without neglecting their familial duties.Coopa-Roca, which stands for the Handicraft and Sewing Cooperative of Rocinha Ltd, uses traditional Brasilian techniques such as embroidery, crochet, knitting, and patchwork.
